If you’ve not heard of ‘cryptocurrency’, well where have you been for the last couple of years! Some examples of it are Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin (dogecoin started as a joke to do with a dog), DASH, Zcash, Ethereum and many more.
‘A cryptocurrency (or crypto currency) is a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange that uses strong cryptography to secure financial transactions, control the creation of additional units, and verify the transfer of assets.[1][2][3] Cryptocurrencies use decentralized control as opposed to centralized digital currency and central banking systems.
Straight from Wikipedia
Bitcoin was the first / original digital currency, started in 2009. If you had bought 100 coins in the early days, the cost would have been next to nothing (or you could have mined them (google ‘cryptocurrency mining)). Right now they would be worth about £1,000,000.
When i first heard of Bitcoin, i didn’t really understand exactly how it worked – i just couldn’t get my head round it or think that it would ever take off. I recall buying a coin, however the details of the wallet that it was stored in is potentially long gone. More on that later. When the value of bitcoin went significantly high I gained interest, took time to understand how it works and even set up a couple of wallets but never actually bought some until very recently. I have 0.00310287 of a bitcoin. (currently worth £25.35). 0.00000001 bitcoin is known as a ‘satoshi’.
The ins and outs are not really the scope of this post, I would suggest that you google it if you need more info!
From here on in, we must presume that you know the basics. The question at hand here is can i get some for nothing? When i say nothing, i mean a few clicks on some sites. Not mining it, that would involve hardware and electricity.
Enter www.freebitco.in
A few times I’d seen a advert / banner for https://freebitco.in/. Many times i skipped past it but one day I thought well lets have a go. I created a random email address (Rather not have a load of spam on my normal one) on outlook / hotmail, signed up with it and logged in. Lo and behold! I can actually get some free bitcoin by rolling some ‘dice’. When you ‘roll’ you will get a number between 0 – 10000, depending on the number, depends how much.
Generally, you end up getting 0.00000015 BTC (15 saotshi). You can roll every hour. Ok so its not much but it is some BTC for nothing. You can also ‘multiply’ (gamble it), bet on various events, earn interest if your balance is 0.00030000 BTC (30000 satoshi) and more. Once your balance is 0.00030000 BTC you can also withdraw it to your own wallet.
This particular site relies on users depositing and betting there own bitcoin etc. Thats how they make their money.
It will take a while to build up and be able withdraw the account balance and its currently worth at best £2.50. But there are more similar sites. Read on!
The next sites that i come across are what I call the ‘Moon’ sites. http://moonbit.co.in/, http://moonbitcoin.cash/, http://moonliteco.in/, http://moondoge.co.in/ & http://moondash.co.in/ (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin & Dashcoin)

The Moon sites are what is know as a faucet. The amount you can claim builds up quickly at first, but then gets slower the longer left. Couple of things to bare in mind with the moon sites:
- Earnings are paid directly into https://coinpot.co/ micro wallets. Conveniently, the coins that coinpot supports is the 5 coins that the moon sites are relevant to!
- These sites are supported by adverts, many of them.
- Many times when clicking through the site, pop under tabs with adverts come up. I just close them down quickly.
- Best amount of time to leave between claims seems to be about an hour
Just going back to coinpot, min withdrawals amounts to get coins to your own wallets:
BTC 0.0001, LTC 0.002, BCH 0.0001, DOGE 50, DASH 0.0002
Also you can convert between the currencys.
Lastly, for every faucet claim into coinpot, you earn coinpot tokens.
See coinpot.co for what you can do with them!
If you want to avoid all the advertisements, i will post up a guide to Pi-Hole – The black hole for internet advertisements / tracking! It uses DNS to make them appear blank / stop tracking you! Keep an eye out for it.
